Hi there, I'm Elise!
Hi there, I'm Elise!
Who I am
Hi, I am Elise!
I’m a curious and emphathetic person. I’m always on the lookout for innovative ideas and technology. I’m my best when connecting with people from teammates to users.
Next to design, my favourite activities are travelling and photography, which also help my professional work. They enable me to be open-minded, communicate well and design a finished product. I’ve also lived in 3 countries, can speak 5 languages and I’m keen to learn more!
To keep a balanced lifestyle I take time off the screen in nature and practising yoga.
My design philosophy
Design should be simple, inclusive and meet the users’ context.
I don’t settle for assumptions, but keep challenging the default requirements and asking enough questions.
I include user feedback during all design steps to enable teams to understand users. This helps me grow the research maturity in companies and better serve the end users of the product or service.
While designing for healthcare, I became an advocate for accessibility, which I always include in my designs. Moreover, I enable engineers and other stakeholders to be more emphatic.
By learning about neurodivergence, I can be mindful about cognitive differences and design experiences that don’t harm or overload the users.

Testimonials
I worked with Elise as part of the Product Design team at myTomorrows. As team lead I had the privilege of collaborating with her on a variety of initiatives. Elise is a conscientious and capable product designer, taking special care to work in a process-driven way that takes into account the needs of her audience.
As advocate for accessibility Elise made sure to create UX and UI solutions that meet the requirements of individuals with visual impairments and/or other challenges when accessing digital platforms. She took ownership of this domain at myTomorrows, preparing and presenting workshops to align stakeholders on its importance, especially in the context of a patient-centric healthtech environment.
Elise also took responsibility for setting up key metrics as part of our quantitative research. Part of the fruits of her labour was seeing a more than 50% increase in UMUX score for the internal operations tool she worked on with the product team.Dian Wessels
